The short version
No accounts and no advertising. Your invoices, quotes, receipts and proforma invoices are created and stored in your browser and are never uploaded. By default no cookies are set: our own server counts page views without cookies. Optional Google Analytics loads only if you choose Allow in the Analytics settings at the bottom of every page.
Your documents stay on your device
- Everything you type into an invoice, quote, receipt or proforma, including your logo and signature, is processed in your browser.
- The PDF is generated in your browser. Document content is not uploaded to our server or sent to anyone else.
- Drafts and saved documents are kept in your browser's local storage on this device. They are not synced to other devices.
How to delete your data
Clearing the editor removes the current draft. To remove everything BillCrisp has stored, including your analytics choice, clear this site's data (site data or local storage for billcrisp.com) in your browser settings. In a private or incognito window, local storage is usually deleted when you close the window. Revoking analytics consent in the Analytics settings clears the Google Analytics cookies without touching your saved documents.
Visit statistics
To know how often pages are viewed, our own server counts page views in its own statistics database, with no cookies and no scripts.
- For each page view it keeps the time, the page path, the country code supplied by Cloudflare, the referring website's domain name (not the full address), a broad browser, operating system and device type, and whether the request came from a known crawler.
- It does not store your IP address or your full browser identifier (user agent).
- To count unique visitors, the server combines the IP address and browser identifier with a random value that is replaced every day and keeps only the resulting one-way code, so visits on different days cannot be linked.
- These records are deleted after 14 days. After that only daily totals are kept.
- Nothing you enter in the editor is ever part of these statistics.
Optional analytics and cookies
BillCrisp may offer optional Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to understand general traffic. Until you explicitly choose Allow in the Analytics settings, no Google script is loaded, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google. This is the same everywhere in the world. If your browser sends a Do Not Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, Google Analytics stays off. Declining or withdrawing consent never limits any feature.
- What Google receives if you allow it: page addresses without query strings or fragments, the referring site's domain, browser and device details, and standard connection data including your IP address. We do not claim that this is anonymous.
- BillCrisp sends only basic page visits. Google Analytics also provides its standard session and device information. Your document text, amounts, names, contact details, file names and logos are never sent.
- Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off, and there is no cross-site identification.
- Cookies: Google Analytics uses pseudonymous cookies such as _ga to tell visits apart; they expire after at most 180 days. Your choice is remembered in this browser's local storage for up to 180 days (or only in memory if storage is unavailable).
- If we enable analytics, we limit Google Analytics user and event data retention to 2 months; aggregate reports may be kept longer.
- Google and its affiliates may process the data on servers outside your country.

Your choices
- Use the Analytics settings at the bottom of every page to allow or decline, or to revoke consent later. Revoking stops collection immediately and clears the Google Analytics cookies.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are respected automatically; the settings show when a browser privacy signal is blocking analytics.
- You can also block Google Analytics with your browser's privacy settings or a content blocker. The editor and PDF download keep working.
Hosting metadata
BillCrisp's files are served through Cloudflare and our own server, and requests for them may appear in their ordinary access logs (for example IP address, user agent and requested path). Log retention follows each provider's usual practice, and we do not use those logs to identify visitors. Your document content is never part of these requests.
What BillCrisp does not do
- No uploads or tracking of your documents, names, amounts or bank details.
- By default, no cookies and no Google requests; page views are counted only by our own server.
- No advertising, no Google signals and no cross-site profiling.
- No accounts, cloud storage, payments or email sending.
